Many Tricks has released Leech 1.1, a free update to its download manager for Mac OS X. With Leech, you can organize all of your downloads within one streamlined application. This update adds seamless browser integration; a rule system to define individual download folders as well as applications to open complete downloads based on a given download’s file type and host; a searchable downloads history; and various minor improvements and bugfixes. It’s a marked improvement from the previous release.

What’s New in Leech 1.1:

  • seamless integration with Safari, Camino, and OmniWeb
  • rules: {download to, open with} based on {host, file extension}
  • searchable downloads history
  • open downloaded files by double-clicking them
  • resuming for certain kinds of files
  • Leech couldn’t locate files that were moved after having been downloaded

A Few Key Features:

  • Capture all downloads from Safari, Camino, and OmniWeb automatically (optional)
  • Pause & resume downloads
  • Limit the number of concurrent downloads
  • Mark URLs for download without actually starting the download yet
  • Shut down computer when all downloads are done
