Rumors

MacBook Nano

Mike over at MacMegaSite has reported that a little bird tweeted that the MacBook Nano will be announced next week at MacWorld! It will be roughly half the size of the current MacBook, 3/4 of an inch thick with an SSD drive (no optical drive) and will use a new ‘beam technology’ to transfer data faster than Bluetooth.

We can’t confirm or deny this rumor as of yet. So that’s all it will be for now, a rumor… But what a rumor it is! :)

Rumors

The Axiotron ModBook

Last January, Axiotron promised a Mac-based tablet. It’s been a while, but it seems as though they are going to deliver on their promise… this January. According to a reseller, the ModBook will begin shipping on January 8th.

Some key features of the Axiotron Modbook:

  • WAAS enabled GPS
  • ForceGlass Screen & Camera Cover
  • WACOM Penabled Digitizer
  • Axiotron Digitizer Pen
  • Full touch-screen capabilities

Pricing will start at $2,279 USD for the ‘fast’ model and $2,479 USD for a ‘fastest’ model. It looks as though you can pre-order your ModBook from Other World Computing here.

With MacWorld upon us, I’m sure Axiotron is simply trying to hit the market before Apple releases their tablet computer. This raises the question: Does Axiotron know that Apple is going to be launching a tablet at MacWorld? Certainly food for thought.

I’d wait till MacWorld hits us before considering picking one of these bad boys up… Plus I’d wait to read some reviews as well. With tablets like the ModBook due to hit the market in the year to come, it will be only a matter of time before Apple releases their own version. What do you think?

iPhone

5 Million iPhones Sold and CountingSome of the big news expected to be released at MacWorld in January is the announcement that Apple has sold over 5 Million iPhones. That’s a lot of iPhones.

Of the 5 million sold, 1 million are reported to have sold over in Europe, leaving the rest of the sales over in North America.

While Apple’s sales targets were actually higher than the actual numbers, we can certainly expect sales to keep increasing. At MacWorld I would not be surprised at all to see the release of a bigger 16GB or 30GB iPhone.

I want an iPhone that has an 80GB drive just like my iPod Video. Can you hear me Mr. Jobs? 80GB iPhone? Got it? Great :)

Apple News, Rumors

Jobs to give the Macworld KeynoteWell, as usual, Steve Jobs will be giving the opening keynote at Macworld 2008. It will take place on Tuesday the 15th of January. So while I look forward to watching the keynote I think about what the Macworld keynote would be like if it was given by someone other than Steve Jobs. Who would give it? Would it be good? But please do leave a comment speculating what you believe will be announced, what products will be updated, and what new things we can expect… And of course, happy holidays!
