Hoyle Casino Games 2008Gamblers and game lovers unite… Hoyle Casino 2008 has been released for the Mac. Macgamestore released the game in partnership with Encore Software yesterday.

The game was previously available only in boxed format. Now, a digital download is available, and hey, even a free trial is available (thumbs up!).

Hoyle Casino 2008 offers 600 variations of 16 popular casino games including online texas hold’em, baccarat, blackjack, craps, keno, roulette, video poker, solitaire, and lots more.

If you love the casino, then chances are you’ll get a kick out of this title as well. As mentioned above, there is a free trial available, or you can purchase the game for $19.95 from Macgamestore. Definitely worth a look for the gamblers out there :)

Jeopardy! Downloadable Game for the MacMacgamestore and Encore software have announced the release of Jeopardy! Deluxe for the Mac. It is now available as a download… Previous versions were only available in a boxed format.

You can download the demo to try it out for free.

Tomb Raider Anniversary Edition Playable Demo for the MacIf you’re a Tomb Raider fan then you’re going to love this. Feral Interactive has released a playable demo of ‘Tomb Raider Anniversary’. You can get it at MacGameFiles.com (the demo weighs in at 273MB).

The anniversary edition goes back and retraces Lara Crofts’s original adventure. The game uses a brand new graphics engine. You will also find huge environments to explore… The demo will let you play through a part of the game set in ‘Lost Valley’ in Peru.

You’ll need a 1.83GHz or faster Intel-based Mac to play the game. Oh, and you’ll need 512MB RAM, 64MB graphics and OS X 10.4 or later.

Take a step back in time to the original Mac 128k system. In this video the author demonstrates the games Pong, Missle Command and Megaroids. I can remember playing these games in the computer lab back in junior high!

BOOM From Factor SoftwareAfter installing BOOM and running the game, I immediately thought of the old Bomberman games for the vintage NES systems I used to play. It definately has that look and feel of the 8-bit console.

Factor software describes the game as ‘Bomberman meets Doom’… and I think they’ve got it right on. The look and gameplay is almost exactly like Bomberman, while the enemies within the game have a ‘Doom’ feel to them.

The controls are simple. Use the arrow keys to navigate around the screen and collect the coins. (more…)
