Apple News, iTunes

Apple Gives 100 iPod Nanos to Fire VictimsA few days ago Apple donated 100 iPods to victims of the California fires. Surely this was at the top of the victims’ priority lists?

Apparently a local resident emailed Steve Jobs saying, “iPods are an accessory that most kids like and can’t live without.” In response Jobs sent 100 iPod nanos to (help?) the victims.

I hope they were already loaded up with music, because I’m sure most of their computers were destroyed in the fires…

Don’t worry about the lost homes or shattered lives, here… Cheer up, have an iPod :)

Fun Stuff, Hardware

Knock-Off Touchscreen iPod NanoIt’s official, the nano clones are here.

Manufacturing this knock-off is a company called ECNokia. Their product is an MP4 player that looks strikingly similar to the nano 3G, but with a bigger 2.4-inch screen + a 1.3 megapixel camera.

A built-in camera? That’s kind of cool.

It also has touch-screen navigation. Not bad! You can pick up one of these bad-boys at rediculously cheap Chinese prices (of course).

For more information on this one, check out their Alibaba page.
