iPhone Apps

Jott for iPhoneFrom Jott Networks comes Jott for the iPhone. It’s the ‘ultimate mobile notepad that turns your voice into notes’. If you want to take quick notes, but don’t want to type them in… Throw away your old voice recorder, and close the notes app… Jott is coming to the rescue.

Capture to-do’s and memos as quickly as you can talk. Jott will transcribe your notes into text and place the notes in a list. When you complete them, simply cross them off with a swipe of your finger. Cool!

All lists are backed up on Jott.com. You can also manage your lists online at Jott.com while you’re at your computer… And if you’re an existing Jott user, your lists and notes will load after you’ve successfully downloaded the app to your iPhone!

Another cool feature is the voice email and text message feature. Customers can use Jott’s phone-based service by calling 1-866-JOTT-123. When you call that number from your mobile number that you previously provided when signing up, Jott will recognize you. Once in, you can send emails and text messages by simply talking into your phone. You’ll need to setup a contact list online before you can send an email or text, but I think this feature is pretty darn nifty.

There’s much more to Jott than what I’ve outlined here… and for the price (FREE) it’s certainly worth a good look.

iPhone Apps

I got excited when I noticed this one in the app store out there. Released earlier today, WordPress is now available for the iPhone and iPod Touch! I’m sure other bloggers in the ‘blogosphere’ will be tickled as well (well ok, only if they have an iPhone or Touch).

The new WordPress app for the iPhone is Open Source. It allows you to create an edit up your content on all of your WordPress blogs, now matter where you are. There is even built-in support for offline use. The app supports WordPress blogs 2.5.1 and higher.

Key Features:

  • Get true previews of your posts via Safari.
  • Full tag and category support
  • Add pics to your blog via your built-in camera or from your library
  • Support for multiple blogs
  • Password protect your posts, save drafts, or mark posts for review at a later date
  • An auto-recovery feature saves posts interrupted by incoming phone calls (cool!)

iPhone Apps

WeatherBug for iPhone and iPod TouchSearching for a more detailed weather application for your iPhone? WeatherBug may be the app you’re looking for.

With WeatherBug you get live local weather conditions from over 45,000 locations around the globe. Also take advantage of severe weather alerts, weather cameras, more detailed forecasts, radar, satellite maps and a bunch more.

Only bad, well, VERY bad thing is you won’t like this app unless you live in the US. The application has NO support for Celsius temperatures whatsoever. Seeing at most of the world uses Celsius, I’m left scratching my head as to why this option was not included.

Note to the folks at WeatherBug: Include Celsius in the next version!!!
