AppleInsider has reported that Apple has snubbed Rogers Wireless for dumping ridiculous service plans on potential Canadian iPhone 3G customers. Apple has decided to pull iPhones from its Canadian retail stores to help the carrier market the new device to customers.
Canadian Apple Retail stores will therefore NOT be selling the new iPhone this Friday Apple has commented. It will be entirely up to Rogers and Fido to pick up subscribers and sell the 3G all on their lonesome.
Calls to Canadian Apple Retails stores confirmed these details, although it was confirmed that demo units will be available at retail outlets come Friday.
The fallout continues against Rogers and their proposed pricing structure. Something has got to give…C’mon Rogers… adjust your pricing to fall in-line with our American friends and we’ll hug this one out.

Twas the night before Christmas…
If your walking along King Street, Sydney tomorrow and you see a huge line-up of people gathered beneath a giant Apple, don’t be afraid. Its not a cult. Its just the opening of the first ever Official Australian Apple Store!
Yes, its just one more sleep away. 3 levels, each with the floor space of about 445 square metres and nothing but wall to wall Apple products. The store will house Apple’s newest and best products but the largest “Genius Bar” in the world, and that will offer Apple’s Pro Lab service, which provides in-depth training to both professional users and novices.
I popped by King Street yesterday to see if anything exciting was happening. Aside for the giant 10 foot Apple logo and the workmen frantically cleaning the class windows there was nothing interesting to see. Unfortunately huge black sheets (which later that night were taken down) still hid what was happening inside for the public outside. Hopefully however the new Apple store will be worth the wait, I know I’m awaiting the announcement of the Australian iPhone prices.
The Sydney Store opens its doors tomorrow, the 19th of June at 5pm. The first 2500 people though the door will receive a limited edition Apple t-shirt. So get along and check it out. Also remember to check out the stores website for details on all up and coming workshops which are happening at the store over the next month.

Jim Cramer recently made some interesting comments on Apple, and how it is clearly dominating the younger demographic… especially among teens.
In the video I’ve linked to at the bottom of this post, he tells us how we should watch children and teenagers and what they believe a computer to be. He believes that most teens view Apple products as real computers… While PC’s are something their parents use for other stuff that they could care less about.
‘I don’t believe anyone is going to ask for a Hewlett-Packard or a Dell when they go to college…’
He also commented that most of the people that run money and the markets have a lot of resistance to what is going on in the computer marketplace. ‘They don’t go to enough Apple stores…or they’re not lucky enough like I am to have teenagers…’
Anyways I digress… It’s a very interesting video and certainly points to bright outlook for Apple in the years to come. Watch the video here.

Apple has plans in the works to open some new Apple Stores in China. However, if you’re in China now, and absolutely need to get your hands on some new Apple gear, you can now head to Best Buy. Turns out Apple has brought their Best Buy partnership over to China and has opened their first mini store over there.
This new mini-store is located at the Best Buy store in Shanghai’s Xuhui area. With the number of people in China, and especially in and around Shanghai, I would expect the store to already be doing very well!
The store is the only Apple store in mainland China at the moment, and it only occupies about 50 square meters! On display are roughly 60 kinds of Apple computers and accessories.
Next on the agenda for Apple in China is the opening of 2 new Apple stores (not located within another business…) The stores are said to be going into Beijing. Cool beans.
