WeatherBug for iPhone and iPod TouchSearching for a more detailed weather application for your iPhone? WeatherBug may be the app you’re looking for.

With WeatherBug you get live local weather conditions from over 45,000 locations around the globe. Also take advantage of severe weather alerts, weather cameras, more detailed forecasts, radar, satellite maps and a bunch more.

Only bad, well, VERY bad thing is you won’t like this app unless you live in the US. The application has NO support for Celsius temperatures whatsoever. Seeing at most of the world uses Celsius, I’m left scratching my head as to why this option was not included.

Note to the folks at WeatherBug: Include Celsius in the next version!!!

Mobile AIM for iPhoneThat’s right, AIM is now available for the iPhone via the app store. Connect whenever and wherever you are via this ultra-popular social networking tool.

Some of the things you can do with Mobile AIM on the iPhone:

  • Send and receive messages via WiFi*, EDGE or 3G networks
  • Manage your buddy list
  • View expressions and update your status
  • Take pictures and immediately use them as your buddy icon
  • View online/offline status of your contacts

*iPod Touch version will only support WiFi.

Mobile AIM was developed for the iPhone and Touch from the ground up using the iPhone OS 2.0 and iPhone UI… So I expect this app to perform at ultra-fast speeds… which is a necessity for any application that features live chat.

What a great tool. I would expect to see more social networking/chat apps dropping mighty soon. Skype? Can you hear me Skype!?? :)

Print from your iPhone?

That’s right, recent rumors now have it that the ability to print directly from your iPhone will be coming soon.

The folks over at iPhone Atlas have reported that after decrypting the iPhone 2.0 software, a directory named ‘Printers’ was discovered… and… well… you can guess what that means. They also discovered a list of supported Bluetooth headsets which included the Parrot CK3100, SouthWing SH310, Samsung WEP170, Motorola T305, Motorola S705, Motorola HS850, Motorola H500, Samsung WEP200, Plantronics 320, Plantronics 640, Plantronics Voyager 510, Jabra BT250v, and the new Jawbone.

As with most rumors, take this with a grain of salt… That being said, these features seem like reasonable and somewhat necessary updates/advancements.

iPhone Dev Team Releases Pwnage Tool 2.0.1

All you 1st gen-ers are in for a treat if you want to upgrade to the new 2.0 Firmware. The iPhone Dev Team have released their Pwnage Tool 2.0…and just recently, have updated it to 2.0.1 to fix some known issues. With it, you can jailbreak and unlock 1st gen iPhones running 2.0 Firmware.

The new Pwnage Tool can also jailbreak the iPhone 3G, however there is no unlocking solution for the 3G yet.

You might want to read up more or do a little research before trying this… but if you’re eager to give it a try, I’ve included 2 download links below. As always, please do BACKUP your iPhone before trying this. Things can and do go wrong, so make sure you backup first.

The Pwnage Tool v2.0 can be found on BigBoss’s repository, or at Hackint0sh.

I’ll give this a try myself over the next few days and will let you know how it goes… However I’d love to hear YOUR experiences on this too. Leave a comment, or discuss this in the forums.

ZEN Pinball: RollercoasterAh, you gotta love pinball! The moment I saw this one in the app store I knew I had to make ZEN Pinball: Rollercoaster an App of the Day.

The developers at ZEN Studios put this game together…and they have the experience to know what they’re doing when building a pinball app/simulator. They also developed ‘Pinball FX‘, an Xbox LIVE arcade game.

Graphics and gameplay is rich and colorful. The game is played in a full 3D environment with stunning details built into the graphics to make the gameplay stellar. You can even explore the playfield in 3D using the gyroscopic capabilities of the iPhone.

Gameplay is fast, and the tables include all of the things you’re used to seeing on your typical pin… Bumpers, run lanes, ramps, drop targets… you name it, they’re in play… and if you’re getting a bit frustrated you can always nudge the table by shaking your iPhone :)

Perhaps what I appreciate most in the game however is the realistic physics. The ball and table react how they should, bumps and shakes and movements are accurate. It just ‘feels’ real, like you’re playing on an actual table. Two thumbs up to the developers here.

A good game for the right price. Any pinball fan will surely want to pick this title up.

Super Monkey Ball for iPhone

Probably the most anticipated new game for the iPhone since the ‘Town Hall’ meeting way back in March has been Super Monkey Ball.

In Super Monkey Ball, your goal is to guide your cute little monkey (that is encased in a transparent ball by the way) by tilting and rolling him through slopes, turns and drops that face him. Concentrate and navigate him through tough courses to reach the goal before time ends. Along the way you will want to collect as many bananas as you can to increase your life count.

The game has 5 worlds and 110 stages. More than enough of a challenge to keep most gamers happy for quite some time.

The control of the game may get some getting used to for some people, as it can be quite twitchy/touchy. But once you have the use of the accelerometer down, you’ll be good to go.
