I’ve tried all of the other 3rd party apps and tutorials out there for jailbreaking, unlocking and activating the iPhone. Do this, then do this, then do this, then wait… if that doesn’t work, try this…
Today I installed and ran ZiPhone 2.5… it’s an easy to use jailbreak, unlock and activation utility for iPhone. All I can say is WOW this is easy to use.
This morning I had an iPhone sitting on my desk… running 1.1.4… jailbroken, but not unlocked or activated. I opened up ZiPhone, ticked off the ‘Jailbreak’ and ‘Activate iPhone’ options in the advanced tab, then clicked the ’start process’ button. A minute or so later, I had an iphone that was unlocked, activated and ready to use. Sure enough, once I slipped my SIM card in, the phone worked beautifully.
ZiPhone is said to work flawlessly with OTB 1.1.4 iPhones… However I wouldn’t be surprised if it worked with 1.1.1 all the way up to 1.1.4. I’d be interested to hear your experiences with ZiPhone if you do decide to give it a whirl. Worked great for me and I have absolutely no complaints.
If you do have troubles with it, I would recommend performing a ‘restore and update’ process in your iTunes first to bring the iPhone to 1.1.4…Once you have the iPhone running 1.1.4 open ZiPhone and have at ‘er.
Below are a few screenshots of the app (click for a larger version):

Any reports on some features that disabled or not functioning??
I myself haven’t use iPhone and still in consideration because a friend of mine got her iPhone with so many not functioning or half-functioning after unlocking. Such as:
The bluetooth only allow voice (headset paired) no data transfer among bluetooth device.
The EDGE or GPRS not functioning.
Cannot use custom ringtone (one you made it yourself)
If this really happens to many.. then an unlock iPhone is useless. nothing but a fancy phone.
By the way, is unlocking and jailbreak are the same?
