Ok so I know you’re familiar with the Mac vs. PC commercials Apple has been running again and again… and again. I like ‘em… But just a few minutes ago I came upon the UK version of the same commercials. I’m not sure if it’s the accent, or what it is, but I like these ones much more. I do have a soft spot for British comedies, so I’m positive that has something to do with it.

At any rate, the video below is an aggregation of all UK commercials and it is roughly 8 minutes long. My favorite quote from the 3rd commercial, roughly 1:09 in:

‘This light grey area could represent shinanigans and tom-foolery, while this dark grey area could represent hijinks… and you see here we further divided hijinks into capers, monkey-business, and… just larking about’

Love it. Watch the vid below.

Psystar has uploaded a new video to YouTube, showing their Open Computers in action. One running Ubuntu, a second running Windows XP, and a third running OS X Leopard. A comment at the end of the video claims that the video was edited and created in Final Cut Studio, from a Leopard-enabled Open Computer.

At the very least this proves that Psystar can deliver on their claims… and the video does show some shots of the front of their office. One thing to note… On the front doors, note the words ‘not open to the public’. Ha! I guess not! Enjoy the video below.

Apple Dominating Teen Scene Says Jim Cramer

Jim Cramer recently made some interesting comments on Apple, and how it is clearly dominating the younger demographic… especially among teens.

In the video I’ve linked to at the bottom of this post, he tells us how we should watch children and teenagers and what they believe a computer to be. He believes that most teens view Apple products as real computers… While PC’s are something their parents use for other stuff that they could care less about.

‘I don’t believe anyone is going to ask for a Hewlett-Packard or a Dell when they go to college…’

He also commented that most of the people that run money and the markets have a lot of resistance to what is going on in the computer marketplace. ‘They don’t go to enough Apple stores…or they’re not lucky enough like I am to have teenagers…’

Anyways I digress… It’s a very interesting video and certainly points to bright outlook for Apple in the years to come. Watch the video here.

My friend Lindsay Hamel shot this over to me today. Looks like she’s gearing up to be the official video blogger of Mahalo.com. They’re having a ‘Mahalo Idol’ competition at the moment to find a brand new podcaster to take over the reigns of Mahalo Daily. Check out her video below. Pretty darn funny if you ask me.

Watch the video, and be sure to send it on to your friends. They are going to be picking finalists based on number of views…and the contest ends soon!

Good luck Lindsay!

Celebrity blogger and television host Wendy Cheng Yan Yan (Xiaxue) published a comparison review of the iPhone vs. a chinese knock-off iPhone. You might have seen it around the web lately… If not you’ve got to watch it :)

Not sure what to say about it… You’ll have to check it out for yourself. I do get a kick out of the fact that she prefers the knock-off because she can’t type on the iPhone with her long fingernails. The knock-off has a stylus that works beautifully. Enjoy :)

Get a Mac 'Yoga' AdContinuing along with the latest marketing push, Apple has released 2 new ‘get a mac’ style ads.

The first ad called ‘Yoga’ features John Hodgman and Justin Long (of course). PC guy is in a yoga studio with his instructor, while Mac guy watches. PC is encouraged to breathe out all the ‘bad vista’… And the yoga instructor then proceeds to have somewhat of a nervous breakdown complaining that vista has screwed up all of her yoga class billing. Kinda cute, funny… Call it what you will.

The second ad ‘Breakthrough’ features Mac and PC at a therapist. The therapist explains to PC that he can’t be blamed for all of the problems and compatiblity issues because all of his hardware and software are manufactured by different people and businesses all over the world… By the end of the ad though you’ll notice that PC doesn’t quite get it yet…

The Apple PR machine is at it again. Looks like they are running a new multi-banner campaign on ZDNet and other larger media outlets.

In the video below, ‘PC’ doesn’t like the overhead banner ad noting Vista’s deficiencies… He tries to switch up the ad, but negative ads keep popping up… Until one positive ad appears… About OS X Leopard.

Enough talk, check out the vid below!

For those of you that love all of the mac system sounds that beep and ping and knock during the day… There’s now a ’soundtrack’ available just for you. It’s called the ‘Apple Soundtrack’ and it was put together in GarageBand by Mike Solomon over at the cleverest. Watch the video below, or download the GarageBand zip or mp4 files to play with or throw onto your system/iPod/iPhone… Enjoy!

Macworld Encore

While at Macworld Conference & Expo 2008, I was able to attend some of the user presentations but due to schedule clashes, I couldn’t see all the ones I had wanted to. Fortunately, Macworld have posted QuickTime videos of a selection of the presentations from both the 2008 and 2007 Macworld Conference, so now I can relive the ones I went to and catch the ones I missed.

Presentations include tips on using OS X, the iPhone, the iPod and an introduction to Microsoft Office 2008.

You can watch the presentations now at Macworld Encore.
