Today Apple released a QuickTime update… version 7.4.1. You can download it from the software update system preference or from Apple’s downloads website. Depending on your version of OS X, updaters have been posted for 10.3, 10.4 and 10.5.

According to Apple:

“The update addresses security issues and improves compatibility with third-party applications.”

No more details have been provided, but Macworld has confirmed with an Apple spokesman that the update addresses a reported incompatibility between QT7.4 and Adobe Premiere and After Effects. The update also includes a security fix that prevents malicious sites from causing an unexpected application termination or arbitrary code execution.
