U2's special edition iPod
We all know how strict Apple is with the design of their products. Remember when Apple released a special “U2 edition iPod Video”? Well, you will never see one again because U2 has left Apple for Research In Motion’s Blackberries. This came about when U2 approached Apple to design some new products for them. Apple rejected U2, leading the band to switch to RIM (Research In Motion). RIM would allow U2 to have more of a direct say in the final outcome of the product.
“[RIM] is going to give us what Apple wouldn’t — access to their labs and their people so we can do something really spectacular,” Bono said.
Nothing has been announced yet as far as new Blackberry models go. Apple had created the special edition U2 iPods from 2004 to 2006. RIM is not known for allowing others to create a specific design for their products, but re more willing than Apple. I would keep an eye out on RIM to create more products that are competing for the top spot in the smartphone industry.

All I know is my U2 iPod is a piece of crap when it comes to being an iPod. And, it’s the 2nd one they sent me. Maybe the guys in U2 realized Apple was putting out inferior products with the name U2 on it. Just my two cents…
I still love my U2 iPod. It just doesn’t work when not stationary. t
