A new software called ‘Hear’ from JoeSoft apparently improves audio for all Mac OS X applications. Really now!?
From the JoeSoft website:
Hear greatly improves audio quality in movies and music throughout all of your Mac OS X applications. With Hear, music is richer, movie sound and dialog is clearer and games will blow you out of your chair!
Ok… Sounds good. I guess! I’m not a big audiophile but this is interesting.
JoeSoft claims to give you access to 3D Sound controls, a powerful equalizer, speaker correction tools, center channel control and much more. If you’re big into music or movies… You may want to give the demo a spin.
You can buy ‘Here’ for $49.95, or try out the free demo.

As I first bougt my Mac Mini I was verry disapointed by the poor sound it produced in combination with my Sennheiser HD Headhones.
Then I connected the Mac with a Yamaha Receiver, Sound was much better, but not good enough in my opinion.
Then I hear about Hear and give it a try and now I will not miss this little program anymore. With Hear my Mac sounds now more richer than it does with the Receiver before.
But I spend days to find the right adjustments because there are so many options.
For People the try Hear for the first time with a Mac Mini it is best to disable first all functions in Hear.
For me the best settings with my Headphones are to move the Superbass slider to 80%, the Fidelity slider to 15%, the Extended Fidelity should be enabled and both silders of the Contour Maximizer should be on 50%.
Give it a try and enjoy the Music!
