Do a lot of Twittering? Searching for a new Twitter client to help you Tweet via your iPhone or iPod Touch? Twittelator Pro is the latest offering from Stone Design, and it’s going to help you with all of your Twittering needs. To say it’s fully featured might be an understatement… and so far it’s getting pretty good reviews.
Guy Kawasaki tweeted: “Have to say that Twittelator Pro is the way to go on iPhone”
Twittelator Pro requires iPhone/iPod Touch firmware 2.2 or greater. So if you really really want it, make sure your OS is up-to-date.
What do I use? Well, I’ve been using Twitterrific for all of my iPhone Twittering needs… But by the sounds of things, Twittelator Pro sounds pretty darn good.
You can pick up Twittelator Pro for $4.99 in the App Store. If you’d rather ‘try before you buy’, and lets face it… who wouldn’t? There’s also the original ‘Twittelator‘ app available for free. Less features than the Pro version, but it does the job as well. Just depends what you want. You can check out the ‘Pro vs. Lite’ features right here.
Keep reading after the jump for the full press release, info and links for Twittelator Pro.
I don’t think this video requires much description. It takes place in 1983 at an Apple Event. Featured in this ‘Software Dating Game’ are Fred Gibbons, President of Software Publishing Corporation…Mitch Kapor, President of Lotus Development… and of course Bill Gates, Chairman of Microsoft.
I might have even posted this one before… But I couldn’t resist. Can’t think of a better way to celebrate the end of the week than with a good ‘ol 1983-cheese vintage Jobs/Gibbons/Kapor/Gates video clip.
Happy Friday All!
Latest rumor has it that Apple is prepping and laying the groundwork for a ‘Premium’ games section within the App Store. This makes perfect sense to me.
His Steve-ness was and is all about pushing the iPhone as the next great gaming device, so why not up the ante in the gaming arena? Offer alternatives instead of the $0.99 and $1.99 cent games. Heck, even $9.99 is pretty ‘cheap’… That said, most iPhone/iPod Touch gamers will probably view $9.99 as mighty expensive.
Apparently games in the premium section will go for a minimum of $19.99. That’s plenty more coin for gamers to spend. I hope the games will be good! Also, inclusion of games in this section will reportedly be limited to the big gaming companies. EA, Gameloft, etc… Which will no doubt have smaller and independent developers up in a tizzy.
My advice to Apple here? Open up the ‘Premium’ section to all. But in the end, YOU have the final say. If a game submitted isn’t worth the $19.99 in your opinion, then send it to the ‘Regular’ App Store
I can’t wait to see the terms and conditions for inclusion in this ‘Premium’ section if it does indeed happen. I’m predicting more bickering and nonsense from both sides in the months to come
Look for more news to come out on this by or at WWDC. I’ve got a feeling.

Well he’s gone and done and did it. That’s right, my bud Dan from Stunt Software has released the latest version of his ‘On The Job‘ software. I told you about it a little while ago, remember? At any rate, he’s been working like mad through the night to make 3.0 the best version of On The Job ever… and it looks mighty good.
Key features in On The Job 3.0:
- New flexible invoice layout engine
- Template editor for producing fully customizable invoices, quotes, or time sheets
- New streamlined user interface
- Invoices can now be created for a specified date range
- New outstanding invoices to easily see unpaid invoices
- Custom hourly rates can now be set for specific items
- Status bar menu to control the timer
- Individual timing sessions are now tracked, and can be edited
- Additional expense types have been added: quantity and mileage
- Per client currency settings
- Automatic and fully customizable invoice number generation
If you bill by the hour, or just need a time tracking solution, On The Job is the ultimate solution. You can download it here, but if you want to buy the full version, it’ll cost you $39.95 (worth every penny). Users upgrading from version 2.0 will only be charged $14.95.
Congrats Dan!
iLife ’09 started shipping yesterday. Cool. Well, I think. The new version has revamped versions of GarageBand, iPhoto, iMovie, iWeb and iDVD… My question to all today is: Are you going to order iLife ’09? Or have you already ordered it!? I’m on the fence. For some reason I’m still a little underwhelmed by the iLife ’09 and iWork ’09 launch, despite both having made vast improvements over previous versions.
Perhaps it’s just me. I hardly use any of the iLife suite as is… I import photos from my iPhone into iPhoto… But really, that’s about it. The new iMovie does look interesting, and to tell you the truth if I buy iLife it will be because of iMovie. Might want to jig up some videos for the site here at Mactropolis… And while the thought of getting guitar lessons from some pretty major stars does appeal to me somewhat, that would require me finding my old guitar and then finding some quality time to sit down and learn. That’s not going to happen.
Guess I’m rambling here. So, you gonna buy it or what?
For more info on iLife ’09 hit up the Apple iLife ’09 Mini Site.
The latest version of iPhone Firmware, version 2.2.1 is now available via iTunes. Plug in your iPhone, pop open iTunes and get ‘er installed. This version is said to improve the stability of Safari and fixes some minor issues within the Mail app. Nothing major here but always good to stay current. Sadly, there’s still no cut/paste feature. C’mon, where is cut and paste!???
Also, the iPhone 2.2.1 SDK is now available for developers. For more info, login to the iPhone Dev Center, download the SDK and start developing for 2.2.1, would ya?
So you’d like to take a walk through the first 25 years of Apple’s history would you? Take my hand, and together we’ll…. Ah, crap never mind, I can’t keep that up. Take Lidija Davis’ hand over at ReadWriteWeb as she steps you through 25 years at Apple in pictures. We all love pictures!
Lidija did a great job piecing this one together, all the way from the original 128K unit back in 1984, through the MacBook Air of 2008. An enjoyable little romp, I’ll give Lidija a 7.5 out of 10 on this report. Some items were missing I’d like to have seen in there… Including the Newton. Ahhhh, the Newton
I’m rambling. And tired. Check it out for yourself here.
Good work Lidija!
I just received a note from my bud Dan over at Stunt Software. He wanted to let me know that the latest version of ‘On The Job‘ will be coming next week, and he even shot over some screenshots (below). If you’ve never heard of or seen On The Job before, I’ll let Dan give it a brief overview:
On The Job is an unobtrusive, easy to use time tracker. It’s not bloated with features you’ll never use, yet it’s powerful enough to handle all of your time tracking needs. On The Job is perfect for anyone billing by the hour.
I’ve tested the app out myself, and it really is handy if you need an easy-to-use yet powerful time tracker. Dan has built many new features into On The Job 3.0 including:
- Flexible invoices in both layout & design options, as well as what items are visible on the invoice.
- Functionality for tracking payments on invoices.
- Items in a Job will be able to have their own custom hourly rates.
- Support for multiple currencies.
- Full undo support.
- Automatic invoice number generation will be possible.
- Billing in quantities, and billing for mileage will now be possible.
- Individual timing sessions, including start and end times will be viewable and editable.
For more info visit StuntBlog.com for the latest or sign up for email alerts here… But make sure you stay tuned for more info and release news here at Mactropolis as it becomes available!
Thanks Dan!
Is the ‘normal’ black or white iPhone 3G just not ‘money’ enough for you? If you’re the type that loves to show-off, have too much money, or a wonderful combo of both, have I got an iPhone 3G for you.
Live right now on eBay is an iPhone 3G, unlocked, and wait for it… It’s plated in 24K gold. Rediculous. It’s the 8GB model with all the usual specs, with of course the addition of the gold plating. The buy it now price is set at $1,500, and the auction ends on January 27th at 7:09PM PST. Add a calendar reminder
You can check out the auction here.
It’s an iPhone 3G that would do Pharrell Williams proud. Some would call it a waste of money. Others probably call this necessary ‘bling’. I’m not sure whether I should/would congratulate the buyer, or slap them across the face if I had the chance.
Good Monday to you all!

Ok, time for some Sunday rediculousness. I was looking over a pretty cool Time article that covered the ‘Top 10 Apple Moments’, and I was struck by the above image of Jobs and Wozniak back in the day. Take a look at it. Doesn’t Woz remind you of Dr. Teeth from The Muppet Show? Maybe it’s just me being tired, lazy and blurry-eyed on a Sunday morning but I think I have something here. I’ve setup a side-by-side image below for your comparison.
Happy Sunday!
